About the Apartment
The Hohenzollern Bridge is the only bridge in the city with artistic sculptural decoration and was built in 1912 at a cost of 62,000 marks. Due to its location in a residential neighbourhood, the Brühlervorstadt, the structure was embellished with specially designed wing parapets with shell limestone sculptures, so-called allegories, by the Erfurt sculptor Carl Melville. On the southern side, the figure with a hammer and stone slab symbolises work and the figure sitting with a bowl of fruit symbolises the harvest. On the northern side, the reclining figure with a mirror symbolises beauty and the reclining figure with a bowl of wine symbolises pleasure. Take a 25-minute walk to Alfred-Hess-Straße and visit this beautiful bridge.
